Uh, OK, maybe "shock" isn't quite the right word... "arrives in", "debuts"--perhaps something like that better describes my first signing for NIGHT KILL. This zoo-dunnit is set a bit south of Seattle, in Vancouver, Washington. (Vancouverites, you have me to thank for inventing you a zoo.) My signing was at Seattle Mystery Bookshop which is a swell location. Great selection of mysteries, lots and lots of selection, and a lovely selection of staffpeople, too (thanks, Bill, Janine, and Fran!).
If you like animals and you like mysteries, stop by Seattle Mystery Bookshop and take a peek at NIGHT KILL. (They have signed copies.) Find out how a grieving widowed zookeeper figures out how someone used her lions to kill her husband. You'll see behind-the-scene detail, animal behavior (not just lions, tiger, clouded leopards, and servals), and aberrant homo sapiens galore.
