Are these not the most tolerant people on earth? The neverending roadworks continue outside their store, and nobody has grabbed a rifle, threatened revenge on the city fathers, or even raised a voice. Instead, they persevere, not just stoically but with good humor. Then, to cap it all, egotistical authors wander into their nice store with their excessive demands - dwarfs scattering rose petals, strawberries dipped in chocolate, the odd (very odd) virgin - and they nod amiably and continue doing what they do so well: providing a place in a bustling city where people who love books can take a moment or ten to browse the shelves and draw upon the knowledge and goodwill of those who work here. To all at the Seattle Mystery Bookstore, thank you for your kindness, your support . . . and could you see about the virgins and the dwarfs for next time? Cheers!
